Creatinine: It is certainly good that it is stable but it is abnormal. Much of the degree of concern is determined by his age and medical conditions as well as the medications he is taking. He should discuss the significance with his medical doctor and consider having a nephrology consultation as well.

Lucky him: The reference ranges are determined for young couch potatoes. Creatinine increases with muscle mass and some with normal aging. When I was lifting weights daily, mine ran 1.7-1.8 and of course I was fine. I wouldn't give this another thought, or be concerned if his physician isn't.
