Common or serious?: First, let's remember that all drugs & dietary supplements have side effects. There's no such thing as a free lunch. With that in mind, then divide known side effects into common & serious (hopefully this list doesn't overlap!). For Benazepril & other ace inhibitors, a dry ticklish cough is a well known relatively common side effect. Of course, anaphylactic allergic reactions are always serious.
