What is the difference between homeopathic belladonna and the plant belladonna?

Dilution: Belladona alkaloids, from the plant, in normal concentrations causes pupillary dilation and effects on the sympathetic nervous system. Homeopathic belladonna is a virtually infinite dilution of the intitial active belladonna so there is virtually none left in the bottle. It is in fact water with nothing in it.

Homeopathic remedy: The homeopathic remedy "belladonna" is prepared from a tincture of the whole plant "atropa belladonna, " in the nightshade family. Producing a homeopathic medicine requires both precise dilution and mechanical shaking ("succussion") between each dilution. Ingested in material quantities, the plant would be very toxic. But the homeopathic remedy is just right to stimulate one's healing system.
