Is this a usual : behavior for you cat? If you have an aggressive animal - would either consider working with an animal specialist to correct this or consider that this might not be the right animal for you. Are you concerned about rabies (if it is an outdoor cat)? Diseases that can be spread by cats to humans (directly or indirectly) include: Bacteria - Cat Scratch Disease (Bartonella henselae) & Salmonellosis.
