What do you suggest if my nana is having hip replacement surgery. what can she expect before and after?

Specializes in Orthopedic Surgery

Expectations: Before surgery, the goal is to optimize hip strength and ROM and also optimize medical health, so a medical doctor is usually involved preop. Typically no eating after midnight before surgery, and sometimes a skin prep is given to the patient as well. After surgery you can expect to undergo a full program of rehab/therapy, which will be done either at home or in an inpatient setting.
