A member asked:

What to do if i am 38 weeks pregnant and have a ventral hernia ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably nothing: Almost all pregnancies are associated with small to medium sized hernias at the belly button. The vast majority are no more than a little bothersome. If you have a a ventral hernia in a different location, or more severe symptoms, certainly discuss it with your OB, and consider seeing a general surgeon with interest in hernia repair. You could find one at the Americas Hernia Society website.
