A member asked:

What happens if a dog has worms, can humans catch it off the dog?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Toxocara canis: Certainly a dog that has round worms can be an infectious risk to humans. Dog poop - or the soil where the dog pooped all over can contain the parasite eggs. You don't really want to be exposed - although most human cases of toxocariasis are asymptomatic. Good to get your pet treated at the vet and keep up good hygiene at home.
