Age, family history: The risk of prostate cancer increases with age. It is relatively rare in men under 60. Sexual activity is not a risk factor. Family history of prostate cancer may be a risk factor for you. It's unclear whether screening tests for prostate cancer are useful for men without symptoms or family history. For men with symptoms or family history, I recommend screening.
