5ARI & DHT: So let's get this right. Finasteride, sold as Proscar & Propecia, along w/its competitor, Dutasteride, sold as Avodart, (dutasteride) do not block testosterone but rather conversion of T into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Therefore, neither 5 alpha reductase inhibitor (5ARI) will make a man physically weak like a boy. However, by blocking T's conversion into DHT, it may raise one's estradiol (female hormone)
