High prolactin?: Hi. If the Parlodel (bromocriptine) was given for a hormone, you probably have a high prolactin. Assuming you didn't just deliver a baby, that's usually due to a benign tumor in the pituitary gland that secretes prolactin. The high prolactin makes your periods stop and usually causes breast milk production. It is treated with bromocriptine (or the preferred drug, cabergoline).
