A member asked:

I have always heard to be careful about antibiotics making birth control ineffectivebut are there others i should be aware of?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rifampin: The only antibiotic that has been shown to interfere with effectiveness of birth control is rifampin, an antibiotic for TB. Having said that, birth control pills, generally, are going to prevent pregnancy with "perfect use" (i.e. not missing any pills) about 96% of the time. That means that there's still a 4% chance of pregnancy on the pill. I recommend 2 forms of birth control if you're worried
