A member asked:

What do you suggest if my child has had an ultrasound and the report said that they found pelviectasis?

It means: there is dilatation of the renal pelvis and collecting system. This part of the kidney collects the urine and empties into the ureter. Dilatation could mean that there is an obstruction of the outflow, or it may be a sign of vesicoureteral reflux. Speak with your doctor about what it means in your child's case.
