Virus: "Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease" is a viral infection usually caused by Coxsackie virus. It is extremely common in the summer and can cause blisters or sores in the mouth, as well as on the hands and feet (Thus the name hand foot and mouth). It can also at times cause a high fever. Treatment is mostly supportive with Tylenol/Motrin/Advil and plenty of fluids.
