Corneal arcus: is due to the deposition of cholesterol at the limbus. It does not always reflect systemic levels of cholesterol and often familial. Occasionally it can reflect a disorder in lipid metabolism. If present in one eye it can indicate decreased perfusion to the eye from carotid artery disease. Have your ophthalmologist evaluate you.
