It depends: Healing of a draining abscess (boil/carbuncle) depends on size, location, and overall health. Generally wounds/sores below the waist take longer to heal. Bigger abscesses take longer.. People with diabetes, use nicotine or have poor circulation may have a tougher time healing. A diet with plenty of fruits and veggies improves healing. But a tiny fiber, splinter, etc. in it may prevent it: See MD
