Why is gtt used to determine sugar issues rather than glycosylated hemoglobin test? seems the latter would be better at predicting diabetes/low sugar.

Good question: The glycosylated hemoglobin is not always diagnostic of diabetes. Certain conditions or drugs can affect the level of glycosylated hemoglobin. In those situations, glucose tolerance test would be better in diagnosing dm.
