Very dangerous: Yes it is very dangerous to you and to your unborn child, especially if you have never had chicken pox or the varicella vaccine. Sometimes even with prior vaccination your titers may not be high enough. So please call your OBGYN ASAP and tell them your history and they will determine what needs to be done.

It is important for: you to call your doctor straight away to see if your bloodwork showed that you are immune to chickenpox or if you need a blood test to find out. Pregnant women can become quite ill with chickenpox & some develop pneumonia. Even though damage to fetal organs is more worrisome the 1st & early 2nd trimester, your OB will want to follow fetal growth carefully if you contract it.
