If the brown row of my birth control pills is inactive, does that mean i can still get pregnant while i'm taking them?

No..: The other 3 weeks of active pills are carefully measured and controlled as to when you take them (some packs are multidose, some are just one or two) so that you should end up not ovulating at all, making that one week of inactive pills not a threat because there should be no egg to fertilize even if you have unprotected sex. Also, the hormones make your cervical mucous thicker- harder for sperm

Birth control pills: The standard packet of birth control pills has 3 weeks of hormones with differing concentrations, depending on the brand. The fourth week has inert pills with no hormones, that week usually coincides with your period. If you take the regular pills every day as prescribed, the chance of pregnancy is less than 1%. Taking the inert pills keeps you in the habit of remembering to take a pill daily.

No: The brown row of the pill is seven days or less. There is not enough time for ovulation to occur. That means you do not get pregnant while you take them.
