These are all of the conflicting feelings and physiologic symptoms that can come with such a major life event. If hands are a bit numb - she may be hyperventilating. I hope that this all goes really well.

Have your mom just breathe. A simple exercise to do is breathe deep using the belly for the count of five and then breathe out through the mouth for the count of five. Breathing deep will stimulate the part of the nervous system that will help calm your mom for her visit.
