Periods: You can take birth control pills for 3 straight months skipping the dummy pills in between. That way you will only have your period 4 times a year. Also, frequent herpes outbreaks may lessen if you take daily acyclovir. That is known as suppressive therapy. See your doctor to discuss both.

Talk to Dr: Talk to your doctor about contraception that does not have bleeding days. Have you tried L-Lysine? What about an antiviral medication? I recommend you see your doctor to discuss all of your options and possible strategies to prevent your herpes outbreaks.

Suppression Rx: If you are having frequent and/or regular herpes outbreaks, you should be evaluated by a gynecologist for suppression therapy for the herpes, which will entail daily meds.

You need to have : your period. There are many new oral contraceptives that can allow you to have your period only 4 times a year. Also you can take oral daily suppressive doses of antivirals to reduce your risk of breakouts. So talk to your gynecologist ASAP
