?meralgia: A not so unusual situation might involve compression of lateral femoral cutaneous nerve of the thigh, causing a burning and numbing sensation over the anterolateral area of the thigh. However, a little unusual to be present bilaterally. Also, might wonder about lumbar stenosis and spinal compression upon changing posture. An EMG may be needed to pin down fully.
