Tongue ulcer: I suggest that you see your provider ASAP. Cold sore ulcers are painful, as well as Aphthous ulcers. Other causes of tongue ulcer are: Autoimmune diseases, Oral cancer, Thrush, Vitamin b12 deficiency, STDs (syphilis ulcer is painless).
