Timing ovulation: Ovulation typically occurs 12-14 days PRIOR to your next menstrual period: if your periods occur every 24 days for example, ovulation can occur on day 10 after your period starts. Once a pattern is observed , it is possible to use this to gauge when pregnancy might occur. Remember that sperm can live over 48 hous, so sex two days prior to ovulation can still result in pregnancy.
