Lidocaine allergy. pregnant and need help before delivery?

Other meds available: Find out if you are truly allergic to Lidocaine by seeing an allergist soon. True allergy to Lidocaine is rare; you may have had a reaction to Epinephrine if it was added to lidocaine. There are other local anesthetics such as bupivacaine (marcaine) or ropivacaine that can be used instead of Lidocaine for spinal or epidural anesthesia for labor and delivery, or to numb the skin for episiotomy.
