Blood Flow: Sitting for extended periods can limit blood flow, sometimes resulting in clots, or DVT's. You don't say how long a period you're referring to, but in general, I tell patients to stand, sretch or walk a bit every 60-90 minutes.

Pelvic congestion: I'm wondering what happened to you at age 16 that could have affected either your lower back, or your pelvis. Either way I would recommend you see your gynecologist, or an orthopedist to perhaps image those areas and get more info as to what may be impeding blood flow, etc.
