Tetanus prone wounds: Luckily tetanus is quite rare and I would think you've probably had at least one tetanus shot in your lifetime. If that's true then getting a booster for tetanus is kind of like frosting on a cake. Proper wound treatment can avoid most tetanus cases since u need a dirty wound for the bacteria to grow and produce toxin. Have u washed the area out well? Is it a deep wound or superficial? Hope u r OK

Probably : Good wound cleaning as soon as possible after the injury helps prevent a wound infection by any germ with or without tetanus spores that may be there. If you've had the primary series and your last booster was within 10 years, the shot is optional but a good decision because you can boost your protection for another decade. We advise a needed booster within 48 hr, but an extra day is OK.
