Kick counts: Generally, doctors do not have patients start kick counts until 28 weeks. Some do it earlier at 24-26 weeks. Prior to that, the baby may be so small in comparison to the uterus that movements may not be easily ascertained. If there are concerns regarding the baby's movement, then a doctor's visit is warranted.
