Is it normal to feel weird and groggy after waking up from an afternoon nap? sometimes my head feels more out of it than before i take a nap.

Me too...: It's really normal and not uncommon. Sometimes called "sleep inertia". Although daytime naps can provide benefits, grogginess is common. One solution is exercise on awakening, taking a shower. Also it has been suggested that a nap that includes a full sleep cyle (90 minutes) lessens grogginess.
