Field loss: The principal change is a diminution of the temporal field in one or both eyes due to tumor compression on the crossing point (chiasm) of the optic nerves. The pattern depends upon whether the compression is on the forward, the middle or posterior portion. Endocrine aspects of some pituitary tumors can also affect the eye.
