Gel vs cream: In general, gels of medicine are more potent than creams due to the "vehicle" they are in. "vehicle" in this instance means all other things that make up the non-medicine part of the total cream, lotion or gel. Because gels are thicker than creams, they hold the medicine to the skin more tightly and deliver more of the medicine to a particular area. If creams feel clogging,it may be the "Vehicle".
