Tinnitus: The syndrome is known as tinnitus. Typically it is not life threatening unless it is due from you taking excessive amounts of aspirin. It is however quite annoying and can sometimes be due to viral infections of the inner ear. Some cases resolve without treatment but in persistent cases you may need to see your doctor or ENT specialist.
