If you have strep throat how long do you have to wait until you can make out and/or have sex with someone?

Depends: Most are considered contagious for a minimum of 24 hrs after starting a penicillin like drug. That parameter is used for causal contact at work or school. Deep kissing or other intimate contact is not included.Waiting a few days and or foregoing deep kissing or oral may permit earlier activity without spreading the germ.

After: 24 hours on antibiotics you are no longer contagious

You need to be on: antibiotics for 24 hours brfore you are not contagious.

48 hours: Forty Eight hours is the rule I tell all of my patients. 48 hours after starting antibiotics is when contagiousness drops off.
