This involves the: ulnar nerve, it isn't in the carpal tunnel but hangs out near by. An injury 2 this nerve is not common but happens. Talk 2 Ur surgeon about this. If it persists, NCS/EMG may B needed. The ulnar nerve has some anatomical variations that put it @ risk B4 it's protected inside gyon's canal. Even this has anatomical variants so this needs follow up.

Several reasons : There are several reasons for a particular finger to be numb after surgery, however, you sound like you just had surgery within 24 hours so I would let the numbness and swelling from surgery settle down. You should have a follow up with your doctor who should fully evaluate your symptoms. Sometimes there is a temporary pressure on the tunnel next to the carpal tunnel where the ulnar nerve sits.
