Cirrhosis: Hep C itself doesn't cause rectal bleeding, but cirrhosis can cause portal hypertension, or increased pressure in the veins sending blood to the liver from the intestines. The increased pressure then redirects extra blood to flow through other pathways, one of which is the hemorrhoid veins. It could also just be regular hemorrhoids as well. Hope this helps!
