May not be herpes: Herpes simplex can be anyplace in the body . This may not be herpes based on your description. A visit to your health care provider to diagnose and treat this is needed. Herpes is spread by direct skin to skin contact. And is less contagious once on treatment with an antiviral. Your health care provider can help you evaluate this
