Eyelids can get sun: burn too, so take some aspirin and elevate your head when you sleep, and apply frozen peas to bring down the swelling. While suntanning causes wrinkles and cancer, and sunburn of the face, can also lead to swelling when you lay flat in bed, since eyelid skin is also the thinnest skin on your body and easily swells.
