Stop pain killer: Black stool maybe blood from inflamed stomach lining leaking blood. Tell your doctor immediately. Can also have black stool from iron supplements.

Black Stool: Black, tarry, malodorous stool could be related to GI bleeding. However, if you are taking medication containing iron (such as prenatal vitamins) or peptobismal - those could cause black stools too. Please let your OB know so that this can be assessed. Take care.

Black stool?: Hmm. You don't say what sort of pain killer you are on. Black stool is not normal. It could represent bleeding. It might also be due to iron or pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate). Please call your obstetrician. I wish you the very best.
