Safe? Yes. But Raw?: Raw? That is bizarre. Excuse my frankness. What possible value would that have to a school lunch? Raw is not unhealthy, but it seems extremely unappetizing.

Sweet potatoes: Yes one can eat raw sweet potatoes which are very nutritious. However, the starch in the potato may increase flatulence
