Both: Chest discomfort is and can be a symptom of many medical problems! The most life threatening are heart disease and pulmonary embolus! These must be excluded first by a thorough history and exam! Then less emergent causes such as acid reflux can be evaluated! Please don't ignore chest discomfort! Could be life threatening
