Viruses: Well over a hundred different respiratory viruses can cause head colds which may be accompanied by chest congestion and headache(nonmigraine). This is why we catch cold throughout our lives as it is very unlikely that we develop immunity to all the different viruses that can cause headcolds.

Stress: Stress causes the immune system to not work as well-which can lead to secondary infections-like viruses-to affect u. plus histamine release which can lead to inflammation-leading to stuffy nose. Migraine occurs after the stress as u'r blood vessels are constricted-narrowed during the stress, and then open up like flood gates, causing the rush of blood to the head.
