A member asked:

I want to know if it is possible to avoid acininc carcinoma surgery after knowing that there is a malignancy in early stage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Acinic cell carcinomas are initially low grade carcinomas found mostly in parotid gland. With time they can become more aggressive, sometimes found in breast or pancreas. With the majority in the parotid gland, allowing this tumor to grow without resection can eventually have the facial nerve involved. A simple facial n. dissection with gland removal solves the problem.
