ER visit: If you missed the vessel or technique was not aseptic, could have local reaction / infection that might put hand at risk. Needs seen by Dr to be sure does not need IV antibiotics or surgical drainage.

Go to ER: may have hit nerve or artery instead of vein and may have infection so you need immediate medical attention.
