Had a ct scan n dr sed i was backed up, prescription miralax (polyethylene glycol) n now have diarrhea.cud i stil b backed up n quit using it or keep using it,i take pain meds daily.

Opiates (morphine): Taken on a regular basis slows down intestinal transit and you end up with constipation. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) shouldn't be taken for more than 3 days in a row. Since you are on morphine your MD should prescribe you other stool softeners like senna or colace. Good luck.

Need further eval: If you are taking narcotics, those could be the cause for your constipation. If you have diarrhea now, you should stop the Miralax (polyethylene glycol) although it is also possible your "diarrhea" may be related to stool getting around an area of impaction. You should consult with your physician.
