Infected Insect Bite: Insect bites can cause redness, swelling and itching. In some people the amount of swelling can lead to bruising. However, if the area is more warm than the normal appearing skin, if it is very tender, and is spreading in size, see MD to rule out possible bacterial infection of the skin known as cellulitis which needs antibiotics promptly.

YES!: Mosquito bites is one thing but if you have a bite with a significant reaction or area of damaged tissue around it or bruising then yes, you should absolutely have it looked at by your family doctor. Doesn't sound like emergent but if significant worsening over next 12 to 24 hrs would go to ER for evaluation if your family doc unavailable. If belly pain is new onset after bite then go to ER asap
