When i yawn, cough, or open my mouth i get a cramp on the right side of my throat. what could this be?

Possibly muscular: Given that this happens when you open your mouth or put pressure on your throat, such as a cough, I suspect that you may have a strained muscle in your throat. You could try ibuprofen or acetominophen for the discomfort. as well as ice or heat for 15 minutes a time to reduce inflammation of the muscle. If it is not improving in 1-2 weeks, I suggest a visit to your doctor.

Muscle spasm!: You may well have problems related to grinding your teeth while sleeping and therefore making you more prone to this type of muscle spasm! Should prob talk with your dentist about this!
