Being aware of your: behavior is the first step. I assume emotional vampire means that you suck people dry emotionally. If that is the case - it can be both draining and exhausting for others. Consider asking others for input when you do it. Also encourage you to address this in your therapy. See you have depression - that can sometimes cause people to feel very needy. This is something that can be worked on! (:

Congratulations: Everyone makes mistakes and injures others without realizing it. You've achieved insight -- many (most?) people never do. You're probably been cruel, demanded affection, felt entitled, and tried to control others. Seek therapy based both on insight and behavior modification, and some spiritual / ethical guidance. This will be your redemption -- to learn to love unselfishly will make you happy.
