Probably an inflamed: lymph node. Or a skin infection.Could be a viral infection as well or even a bacterial throat infection> Only your doctor can diagnose you and tell you what the best course of treatment might be.

Culture: If this is a simple viral throat infection it should improve after several days without any specific treatment. If the soreness worsens instead see your Physician for an examination and a throat culture to check for a strep infection which would require a course of antibiotics.The bump in your neck is most likely a reactive lymph gland from the infection. Gargle with warm salt water.Use lozenges
