Culture: If this is a simple viral throat infection it should improve after several days without any specific treatment. If the soreness worsens instead see your Physician for an examination and a throat culture to check for a strep infection which would require a course of antibiotics.The bump in your neck is most likely a reactive lymph gland from the infection.
