Loading dose: Hi. No, it's not common, but it implies you're profoundly vitamin D deficient and your doctor wants to give you a loading dose before starting maintenance. I would load with 50,000 (that's plenty) for a few days for extreme deficiency, then cut back to once/week. No GI absorption problems?
