Depends on the cause: Halitosis has multiple causes and therefore multiple treatments. If it is caused by poor dentition (bad teeth) treatment can take a while until the teeth and gums are healthy. If its from infected tonsils it could be short with just antibiotics or longer requiring tonsillectomy. If its from reflux (stomach juice coming up) it requires diet, lifestyle modification and medication.

Halitosis treatment: Halitosis can be caused by poor oral hygiene, decay, periodontal disease (gum disease), dry mouth, smoking, build-up of bacteria on the tongue. It can also be caused by dietary choices, and systemic disease. Treatment, and length of treatment, is dependant on the cause.

Depends: Depends on what is causing your halitosis. Poor oral hygiene and diet are the most common causes and can quickly and easily be corrected. Need to see a dentist for evaluation.
