Scabies: Scabies can live as long as 72 hours, on clothes or surfaces, other than people. They die at 122F (50C), for 10 minutes. So, a hot water wash works well. If you cannot wash something, place it in a tightly closed plastic bag, for about a week. They can live 1-2 months on people, without treatment; and are very contagious.
